John Eigel Selected For 2011 Texas Boys State

Congratulations to John Eigel, a junior and AFJROTC cadet at Cedar Hill High School, for being selected to attend the 2011 American Legion Boys State program being held June 5-10 in Austin, TX. Again, CONGRATULATIONS John!

AFJROTC Awards Presented

Congratulations to the following individuals for their achievements during the 2010-2011 school year at Cedar Hill High School in the TX 957th AFJROTC Group. American Legion Post 111 presented medals and certificates to the following Cadets on April 30th at the Cedar Hill High School. For Military Excellence, the awardees were: Cadet Senior Airman Leah Hayes - Freshman, Cadet SMSgt Helen King-Dowls - Sophmore, Cadet Captain Essence Caruthers - Junior, and Cadet Colonel Scotty Cook - Senior. For Academic Excellence, the awardee was Cadet Col Liz Sims. Again, CONGRATULATIONS Cadets!

Monthly General Membership Meeting Information

General Legion membership meetings for Post 111 are held monthly on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. ALR Chapter 111 membership meetings are also held monthly on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. SAL Squadron 111 membership meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings are held at the Post and members and guests should use the rear entrance to the building. Ample parking is available.

New Paid-Up-For-Life (PUFL) Rates Announced

New PUFL rates and extended payment plan have been announced and can be viewed in the attached flyer.

The American Legion License Plates Now Available!!!

The plates are available for all Legion, Auxiliary and SAL members in the Department of Texas. See the attached sheet for more information.

Be Active in Your Post

All members are invited to be more active in Post management and activities. The more participation, the greater fun for all! Volunteering an hour or two a month is all it takes to make a difference.
